Condor #282 was originally released at the Grand Canyon, Arizona, but was taken by the USF&W in the spring of 2008 from the Peregrine Fund, and held at the Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge. It was fond of landing on the railings at the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and people were approaching a little too closely. It was released back into the wild the 6th of January, 2009.
