The Netherlands
I was born in 1977 in Malaga, Southern Spain, but grew up in the Netherlands. At a young age i already went together with my older brother Daniël (how also is a contributor on this site, with many great video's) to look for birds in the forrest, or on holiday in Spain. At later age, in 2002 we (me and my brother) started more serious and we begin to twich. But we decide we wanted to see more birds also outside Europe. After that we went birding in Turkey, the Gambia, Brazil 2x (South-east and North-east), Thailand 7x and Laos 2x. With highlights THAILAND & LAOS: Bare-faced bulbul, Sooty Babbler, Green peafowl, Spoonbilled sandpiper, Christmas island frigatebird, Normand's greenshank, Black-faced spoonbill, Corral-billed ground cuckoo, Siamese fireback, Kalij pheasant, Bar-backed partridge, Grey Peacock-pheasant, Bamboo woodpecker, Long-tailed braodbill, Banded kingfisher, Banded pitta, Blue pitta, Red-legged crake, White-necked laughingthrush, Red-faced liocichla, Specacled barwing, Whiskered Yuhina, Cuttia, Spot-breasted parrotbill, Black-throated parrotbill, Great hornbill. BRAZIL: Araripe manakin, Fringe-backed fire-eye, Orange-bellied antwren, Indigo macaw, Forbe's blackbird, Alagoas Foliage-gleaner, Alagoas antwren, Black-hooded antwren, Restinga antwren, Red-browed amazon, Red-tailed amazon. Using a Panasonic NV-GS500 camera with a HR-2 convertor and recently i film or take foto's with a D600 and a 100-400mm lens 4.5-5.6 from Canon.IBC Personal statistics:
