By profession I am a research horticulturist at a local botanical garden. However, I have been an avid bird watcher since high school (too many years ago!). In the last few years I have participated in several bird tours which also brought me to places of wonderful botanical diversity so I could indulge in both my passion for birds and flowers. Most of my photography is of flowers (especially alpines and orchids) but in the last couple of years I have started to do some bird photography. My camera is a Nikon Coolpix 8800...excellent for flower macros but not so great for birds. Guess I need to step up to a SLR camera!IBC Personal statistics:
