Rob grew up in south Derbyshire and spent his early years birding around the local reservoirs and gravel pits or chasing rarities around the UK. He began travelling overseas from an early age throughout Europe and North America but it was Asia that really captured his imagination so in 2005 formed Birdtour Asia and his time is now spent guiding birding tours throughout the Orient including India, China, Philippines, Malaysia, Borneo, Indonesia and West Papua. His frequent overseas trips have taken him to Australia, New Zealand and to several African countries. He makes occasional video of an obliging birds encountered using a Canon 7D with Canon 300mm 2.8 and 1.4x extender.IBC Personal statistics:
