Nick Athanas
Quito, Ecuador
Nick Athanas, American by birth, gave up a career in geophysics after the lure of Neotropical birds became too strong to resist. He moved to Ecuador in 2000 and was one of the founders of Tropical Birding, a bird tour company with a strong conservation ethic.
Nick spends much of his time travelling around South America, either leading tours, working on personal projects, or exploring new areas. He is not a professional photographer, but is happy to contribute material when he has the opportunity to do so.
