Mike was born in 1958. He grew up in Cheshire, UK, and started birding in 1972. His local birding was at Sandbach Flashes and in his early twitching days he was one of the notorious "Sandbach Flashers"! A keen interest in Asian ornithology developed from the early nineties and he has been an Oriental Bird Club Council member for eight years. Mike started videoing in 1992 with the Canon EX1 Hi and moved over to mini DV in 2000 with the Canon XM1. He is now using CanonXM2, which he finds particularly good in rainforest. He is hoping to move up to Hi Definition soon and he has ambitions to record all the world Pittas on video!IBC Personal statistics:
