
Matt Giovanni

Matt is currently a Ph.D. student in applied ecology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, and School of Natural Resources. His research there is focused on western meadowlark and other grassland passerine breeding ecology in the Sandhills prairie region of central Nebraska. He would like to thank his co-advisors, Dr. Walter Schacht and Dr. Larkin Powell, for the opportunity and mentorship.He received a M.S. in wildlife science at Texas Tech University (TTU) during which he obtained the Ferruginous Hawk and Swainson's Hawk footage for his breeding ecology and diet research. Matt would like to acknowledge those who supported his research and his education, including the TTU Department of Natural Resources Management, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the U.S.G.S. Texas Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit, and his advisor there, Dr. Clint Boal.
Matt obtained his B.S. in biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, which he says is a great place to live and attend school, and he grew up north of Madison, Wisconsin, in corn and soy country.
