Afterwards, he spent three years in Belarus to study Eurasian Bittern and Greater Spotted Eagle. Having a special interest for ringing, he visited several ringing stations in Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain and Israel.
Coming back to France in 2003, he was employed by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in order to work during 2.5 years for a national project on the Eurasian Bittern. In 2006, he worked during six months in Morocco in the Emirates Centre for Wildlife Propagation to study Houbara Bustard. During the summers of 2006, 2007 and 2008, he has also had the opportunity to collaborate on a Dutch-Russian expedition in the Taïmyr Peninsula, Siberia. In 2010, he joined a Norvergian-Russian expedition in Yamal, Siberia. The aim of these expeditions is to understand the relationships between rodent (lemmings, voles) cycles, the role of predators and the breeding success of geese, waders and passerines.
Since 2006, he also spent the austral summer in the Falkland Islands where he studies the breeding biology of the Southern Rockhopper Penguin with Dr Maud Poisbleau who worked for the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology, Radolfzell, Germany, and now for the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
