Knut has been studying birds in Guatemala since 1997, resulting in several contributions in ornithological journals, a chapter on avian diversity in the volume "Biodiversidad de Guatemala" (Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, 2006), and an annotated checklist of the birds of Guatemala (Lynx Edicions, 2007). He is director of the PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program), and recently he co-coordinated the IBA identification in Guatemala (Ornithological Society of Guatemala and BirdLife International). Knut is co-founder and tour leader of Cayaya Birding (www.cayaya-birding.com), specialized in birding tours in Guatemala.IBC Personal statistics:
