Javier was born in Madrid in 1966. He took a liking to wildlife when he was very young, attracted especially by fauna, and since then he has spent his free time dedicated to activities related to observing and enjoying nature. He has had the privilege of seeing almost all of the Iberian bird species and many others from Mexico, the United States and Guatemala, countries where he lived during seven years. He is also enthusiastic about observing mammals and during his last trips he was able to film many species in Spain. He is a member of the Spanish Society for the Conservation and Study of Mammals (SECEM) and he has occasionally contributed to some of their publications.
He considers the dissemination of knowledge fundamental to creating a conservationist conscience in future generations. That is why he was attracted by the IBC project and why he would like to continue contributing to other projects related to the protection of our natural world.
