Gaston Sallaets

Gaston Sallaets is a 50 years old Belgian birdwatcher from Antwerp.

In his daily life he is a CNC-operator in a metal-factory but most of all a keen nature-lover with a great interest in birds.

He has made quite a number of bird trips abroad, among his favourite birding countries are Nepal, India and South Africa.

In 1985 he met Leo Janssen, who is also a bird fanatic. Since then they have spent numerous hours together twitching, seawatching or just generally searching for birds. In 2000 they started to film birds seen in Belgium and it kind of grew on them. Today it has become an ideal hobby as it combines two great interests of them, getting to watch the birds as well as capturing them on film.
