Taxonomy: Phyllornis palawanensis Sharpe, 1876, Palawan, Philippines.
Probably forms a superspecies with C. cochinchinensis, C. jerdoni and C. kinabaluensis. Monotypic.

Distribution: W Philippines: Calamian Group (Calauit, Busuanga and Culion) and Palawan (including its satellites Dumaran and Balabac).
