Taxonomy: Tinamus noctivagus Wied, 1820, Espírito Santo, Brazil.
Very similar to previous species, but separated by voice and colour of legs and eggs. Very close to several other species of Crypturellus, and may include C. duidae and C. atrocapillus. Two subspecies recognized.

- noctivagus (Wied, 1820) - SE Brazil.
