Taxonomy: Turnix tanki Blyth, 1843, Bengal.
May be closely related to T. maculosa, although this proposal has not been widely accepted. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- tanki Blyth, 1843 - Indian Subcontinent, Andaman and Nicobar Is.
- blanfordii Blyth, 1863 - Myanmar through Indochina to E China, breeding N to Korea and extreme SE of Soviet Far East (S Amurland and Ussuriland).
