Taxonomy: Anas undulata Dubois, 1839, Cape of Good Hope.
Forms superspecies with A. platyrhynchos, A. rubripes and A. melleri. Two subspecies recognized.

Subspecies and Distribution:

  • rueppelli Blyth, 1855 - S Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, N Kenya.
  • undulata Dubois, 1839 - Kenya SW to Angola and southwards to Cape Province.
