Other common names: Flat-clawed/Yellow-webbed Storm-petrel
Taxonomy: Procellaria oceanica Kuhl, 1820, South Georgia.
Possible race maorianus (taken off New Zealand) may be extinct. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- oceanicus (Kuhl, 1820) - subantarctic islands, from Cape Horn E to Kerguelen Is.
- exasperatus Mathews, 1912 - South Shetland, South Sandwich Is, coastal Antarctica.
