Taxonomy: Trochalopterum morrisonianum Ogilvie-Grant, 1906, Mount Morrison, Taiwan.
Genus traditionally subsumed in Garrulax. May form a superspecies with T. affine. Has been considered conspecific with latter or with T. henrici, but basis for such treatments poor. Monotypic.

Distribution: Taiwan.
