Taxonomy: Cittocincla nigra Sharpe, 1877, Palawan, Philippines.
May form a superspecies with C. cebuensis. Has sometimes been considered closely related to, and possibly conspecific with, C. saularis. Monotypic.
Distribution: Calamian Is, Palawan and Balabac, in W Philippines.
