Taxonomy: Galbula albogularis Spix, 1824, Pará = Rio Javarí, Brazil.
Forms a superspecies with B. salmoni, B. goeringi and B. lugubris. Monotypic.
Distribution: E Peru (Loreto, Madre de Dios, possibly Cajamarca), W Brazil (R Solimões, R Javarí, upper R Purús) and N Bolivia (Pando, La Paz).
