Cuckoo-shrikes (Campephagidae)
White-rumped Triller (Lalage leucopygialis) - HBW 10, p. 100
French: Échenilleur de Walden
German: Sulawesilalage
Spanish: Oruguero de Walden
Other common names: Sulawesi Triller
Taxonomy: Lalage leucopygialis Walden, 1872, Menado, Sulawesi.
May form a superspecies with L. nigra, and the two are often considered conspecific; nevertheless, on basis of plumage characters, L. nigra appears to be closer to L. sueurii than to present species. Sympatry of present species with L. sueurii in Sulawesi means that these two can not satisfactorily belong to the same superspecies. Monotypic.
Distribution: Sulawesi (including islands of Manadotua, Bangka, Muna and Buton), Banggai Is and Sula Is (Taliabu, Sanana).
