Buntings and New World Sparrows (Emberizidae)
White-naped Seedeater (Dolospingus fringilloides) - HBW 16, p. 664
French: Sporophile à nuque blanche
German: Spitzschnabelpfäffchen
Spanish: Semillero Nuquiblanco
Taxonomy: Oryzoborus (?) fringilloides Pelzeln, 1870, River Xié, upper River Negro, Brazil.
Molecular work indicates that genus is very closely related to Sporophila and should perhaps be merged with it; appears not to be close to Catamenia and some other genera with which it has been placed in the past. Monotypic.
Distribution: SE Colombia (Guainía and Vaupés), S Venezuela (Amazonas) and NW Brazil (N Amazonas E to Presidente Figueiredo); also S Guyana.
