Taxonomy: Iotreron Eugeniæ Gould, 1856, Solomon Islands.
Forms a superspecies with P. viridis; also allied to P. rivoli and P. solomonensis. Taxonomy of P. viridis and present species is confused: some authorities consider them conspecific; others treat P. v. vicinus and P. v. lewisii as races of present species. Monotypic.
Distribution: E Solomons, on San Cristobal, Malaupaina and Uki.
