Taxonomy: Turdoides leucocephala Cretzschmar, 1826, Sennar = Blue Nile Province, Sudan.
Considered to form a superspecies with T. plebejus and T. jardineii; sometimes treated as conspecific with one or other. Monotypic.
Distribution: E Sudan, NW Ethiopia and NW Eritrea.
