Spanish: Buco Pechiblanco
Taxonomy: Bucco fuscus J. F. Gmelin, 1788, Cayenne.
Forms a superspecies with M. semicincta. Birds from S Venezuela sometimes separated as race venezuelae, but appear indistinguishable from other populations. Monotypic.
Distribution: E Ecuador and SE Colombia E to S Venezuela and the Guianas and S to NE Peru and N Brazil (N of Amazon).
