Taxonomy: Anas arborea Linnaeus, 1758, America = Jamaica.
Despite its quite different plumage pattern, perhaps most closely related to D. viduata. Hybridization in captivity with D. eytoni recorded. Monotypic.

Distribution: Bahamas, Greater Antilles and N Lesser Antilles to Martinique.
