Other common names: Roraiman Warbler (roraimae)
Taxonomy: Muscicapa bivittata d'Orbigny and Lafresnaye, 1837, Yungas, Chiquitos, Bolivia.
Closely related to and may form a superspecies with B. chrysogaster; the two are separated altitudinally in small area of S Peru where ranges overlap. Race roraimae geographically remote from the other two, and treated as a separate species by some recent authors. Three subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- roraimae Sharpe, 1885 - tepuis of S Venezuela, W Guyana and N Brazil.
- bivittatus ( d'Orbigny & Lafresnaye, 1837) - E slope of C Andes from S Peru S to C Bolivia.
- argentinae J. T. Zimmer, 1949 - E slope of Andes from SC Bolivia S to N Argentina.
