Other common names: Brown-crowned Eremomela (when treated as conspecific with E. badiceps)
Taxonomy: Eremomela badiceps turneri van Someren, 1920, Yala River, Kavirondo District, west Kenya.
Formerly treated as conspecific with E. badiceps, but the two found to be sympatric in E DRCongo. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- kalindei Prigogine, 1958 - EC & NE DRCongo (Abyaloze, Kailo, Kalima, Makayobo, Mazali, Beni), and SW Uganda (Nyondo Forest).
- turneri van Someren, 1920 - W Kenya (Kakamega Forest, S Nandi Forest).
