Taxonomy: Calornis crassa P. L. Sclater, 1883, Larat, Tanimbar Islands.
Genus name sometimes given as Aplornis (see page 659). May form a superspecies with A. cantoroides. Monotypic.
Distribution: Tanimbar Is, in extreme E Lesser Sundas.
