Taxonomy: Hydropsalis segmentatus Cassin, 1849, Bogotá.
Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- segmentata (Cassin, 1849) - Colombia (W slope of Andes and E Andes) and N Ecuador.
- kalinowskii (Berlepsch & Stolzmann, 1894) - C Peru (slopes of E Andes) and W & C Bolivia.
