Taxonomy: Lanius (Notodela) diana Lesson, 1831, Pegu; error = Java.
Often placed in genus Cinclidium. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- sumatrana ( Robinson & Kloss, 1918) - mountains of N & WC Sumatra (Leuser, Kerinci, Berastagi, Dempu).
- diana ( Lesson, 1831) - mountains of Java (E to Ciremay).
