Taxonomy: Trochalopteron virgatum Godwin-Austen, 1874, Razami, Naga Hills, Nagaland, India.
Genus usually subsumed in Garrulax. Species sometimes placed in genus Trochalopteron. Monotypic.

Distribution: S Assam (N Cachar), Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram, in NE India, and adjacent W Myanmar.
