Taxonomy: Accipiter trinotatus Bonaparte, 1850, Sulawesi.
May represent old endemic element of Sulawesi. Purported race haesitandus of S Sulawesi probably not valid, as variation slight and apparently inconstant. Monotypic.
Distribution: Sulawesi and off lying islands of Talisei, Muna and Butung.
