Taxonomy: Ps.[arocolius] pectoralis W agler, 1829, Totolapán, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Closely related to I. graceannae. Four subspecies recognized.

Subspecies and Distribution:

  • carolynae Dickerman, 1981 - S Mexico (Pacific slope of Guerrero and adjacent Oaxaca).
  • pectoralis (Wagler, 1829) - SE Mexico (E Oaxaca and C Chiapas S to Tonalá).
  • guttulatus Lafresnaye, 1844 - SE Mexico (from Pijiapán, in Chiapas) S to arid valleys of Guatemala, Honduras and NW Nicaragua.
  • espinachi Ridgway, 1882 - SW Nicaragua (Rivas) and NW Costa Rica (Guanacaste).
