Taxonomy: Hyphantornis spekei Heuglin, 1861, north Somalia.
Thought to form a superspecies with P. spekeoides. Monotypic.
Distribution: W Ethiopia, N & E Somalia, and SW & C Kenya S to NC Tanzania.
