Taxonomy: Phalacrocorax atriceps georgianus Lönnberg, 1906, South Georgia.
Often considered race of P. atriceps. Some authors restrict species to population of South Georgia, those of other zones being referred to P. bransfieldensis. Species sometimes placed in genus Notocarbo. Monotypic.
Distribution: South Georgia, South Orkney Is, South Sandwich Is and Shag Rocks (Scotia Sea).
