Other common names: Tibetan Dove, White-bellied Pigeon
Taxonomy: Columba leuconota Vigors, 1831, Himalayas (probably Nepal).
Closely related to C. livia and C. rupestris. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- leuconota Vigors, 1831 - Himalayas from W Afghanistan to Sikkim; in summer also occurs in Alay Mts and Pamirs in Tadjikistan.
- gradaria Hartert, 1916 - mountains of E Tibet and from E Nan Shan (Qinghai) to Yunnan and extreme N Myanmar.
