Other common names: Greater Snow Goose (atlanticus); Lesser Snow Goose, Blue Goose (caerulescens)
Taxonomy: Anas caerulescens Linnaeus, 1758, Hudson Bay.
Sometimes placed in genus Chen together with A. rossii. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- caerulescens (Linnaeus, 1758) - Wrangel I (off NE USSR); N Alaska E to Baffin I.
- atlanticus (Kennard, 1927) - NW Greenland and islands in N Baffin Bay.
