Slender-billed Thornbill (Acanthiza iredalei) - HBW 12, p. 607
French: Acanthize d’Iredale
German: Grunddornschnabel
Spanish: Acantiza de Iredale
Other common names: Dark/Slender/Small-billed/Small-tailed Thornbill, Slender-billed/Small-billed/Southern Thin-billed Tit; Samphire Thornbill (rosinae)
Taxonomy: Acanthiza iredalei Mathews, 1911, Lake Way, west-central Western Australia.
Possibly closest to A. reguloides, and perhaps part of a superspecies with that and A. inornata; recent analysis of mitochondrial DNA, however, suggests that present species may be closer to A. uropygialis; more study needed. Three subspecies recognized.

- hedleyi Mathews, 1912 - deserts of SE South Australia and Little Desert of CW Victoria.
