Taxonomy: Rhinomyias goodfellowi Ogilvie-Grant, 1905, Mount Apo, 8000 feet [c. 2440 m], south-eastern Mindanao, Philippines.
May form a superspecies with R. gularis, R. albigularis and R. insignis; all previously regarded as conspecific, but now considered to differ sufficiently to warrant treatment as separate species. Monotypic.

Distribution: C Mindanao, in S Philippines.
