Taxonomy: Lophornis delattrei brachylopha R. T. Moore, 1949, San Vicente de Benítez, Guerrero, Mexico.
Forms a superspecies with L. delattrei and possibly L. stictolophus; has been considered conspecific with former. Monotypic.
Distribution: Sierra Madre del Sur in Guerrero (SW Mexico).
