Taxonomy: Acanthiza magna Gould, 1855, Western Tiers, near Deloraine, Tasmania.
Has in the past been placed in genus Sericornis. Recently described race greeniana poorly known, only four specimens. Genus originally combined with feminine adjective, and is thus deemed to be feminine. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- greeniana Schodde & Mason, 1999 - King I, in W Bass Strait (off SE Australia).
- magna ( Gould, 1855) - Tasmania.
