Taxonomy: Batis diops Jackson, 1905, Ruwenzori, DRCongo.
This species and B. margaritae probably belong to the superspecies that also contains B. capensis, B. reichenowi, B. mixta, B. crypta and B. fratrum. Monotypic.
Distribution: Albertine Rift in E DRCongo (Ruwenzori Mts S to Mt Kabobo), extreme W Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
