Taxonomy: Apalis ruwenzorii Jackson, 1904, Ruwenzori, DRCongo-Uganda.
Forms a superspecies with A. pulchra and sometimes treated as conspecific; the two may be better placed together in a separate genus. Birds from Rugege Forest, in Rwanda, described as a geographical race, catiodes, but appear indistinguishable from other populations. Monotypic.
Distribution: Highlands of E DRCongo, SW Uganda, W Rwanda and W Burundi.
