Taxonomy: Diomedaea [sic] epomophora Lesson, 1825, no locality; probably Australian waters.
Two subspecies recognized.

Subspecies and Distribution:

epomophora Lesson, 1825 - Campbell I and Auckland Is.
sanfordi Murphy, 1917 - New Zealand and Chatham Is.
