Taxonomy: Psittacus roseicollis Vieillot, 1818, Goodhouse, north-west Cape Province.
Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- catumbella Hall, 1952 - SW Angola N almost to Luanda.
- roseicollis (Vieillot, 1818) - Namibia and South Africa.
