Old World Warblers (Sylviidae)
Rimatara Reed-warbler (Acrocephalus rimitarae) - HBW 11, p. 629
French: Rousserolle de Rimatara
German: Rimatararohrsänger
Spanish: Carricero de Rimatara
Taxonomy: Conopoderas vaughani rimitarae Murphy and Mathews, 1929, Rimatara, Austral Islands.
Has been treated as conspecific with A. vaughani and A. taiti, but basic differences in sequence and pattern of leucistic plumage among the three taxa suggest substantial genetic differentiation at species level; as they are separated by great distances of open ocean, gene flow among them is probably minimal. Monotypic.
Distribution: Rimatara, in Austral Is (French Polynesia).
