Regal Sunbird (Cinnyris regius) - HBW 13, p. 279

Spanish: Suimanga Real
Taxonomy: Cinnyris regia [sic] Reichenow, 1893, Central Africa = Rwenzori, DRCongo.
Genus often subsumed in Nectarinia. Probably closely related to C. rockefelleri. Proposed race kivuensis (from Kivu Volcanoes, in DRCongo) considered indistinguishable from nominate. Two subspecies recognized.
Subspecies and Distribution:
- regius Reichenow, 1893 - E DRCongo, SW Uganda, W Rwanda and W Burundi.
- anderseni J. G. Williams, 1950 - W Tanzania.
