Red-tailed Minla (Minla ignotincta) - HBW 12, p. 267

Taxonomy: Minla Ignotincta Hodgson, 1837, Nepal.
Races mariae and sini sometimes merged with jerdoni. Individuals of this species found in W Guizhou and NW Guangxi (SE China) appear not to have been assigned to a race. Four subspecies recognized.

Subspecies and Distribution:

  • ignotincta Hodgson, 1837 - C Nepal E to Bhutan, NE Indian hill states (except Meghalaya), S China (SE Xizang, W & NW Yunnan), and N, W & SE Myanmar.
  • mariae La Touche, 1921 - C & SE Yunnan (China), E Laos and W Vietnam (S to C Annam).
  • jerdoni J. Verreaux, 1870 - SC China (SC Sichuan, N, C & E Guizhou, S Hunan, NE Guangxi).
  • sini Stresemann, 1929 - Yao Shan, in E Guangxi (SE China).
