Taxonomy: Nectarinia (Myzomela) vulnerata S. Müller, 1843, Timor, east Lesser Sundas.
Relationships uncertain; suggested as being close to M. erythrocephala, or possibly close to the M. cardinalis superspecies. Monotypic.

Distribution: Timor, in E Lesser Sundas.
