Taxonomy: Turdus plumbeus Linnaeus, 1758, America [= Islands of Andros and Ilathera (Bahamas)].
Frequently placed in a separate genus, Mimocichla. Has been suggested that E races ardosiaceus and albiventris warrant treatment as a separate species. Six subspecies recognized.

- coryi (Sharpe, 1902) - Cayman Is (Cayman Brac).
- ardosiaceus Vieillot, 1822 - Hispaniola (including I de la Tortue, I de la Gonâve) and Puerto Rico.
- albiventris (P. L. Sclater, 1889) - Dominica.
